This was a particularly busy time for us, and we made a short turnaround trip to Roswell to 1) support/race this local 5K and 2) work on some business stuff in New Mexico. I’ve done this race every year since 2021. I should get my medals organized, because I’m going to start blinging out pretty soon.
I think a lot of folks get bored of running the same races over and over again. If I like it enough, I don’t mind sparing the cash to keep it going. You also get to build a really good collection of progression medals along the way. It would be nice to find a cheap way to track the times without having to dig through my app, but alas that is more work than I am willing to put in.
So this race was the usual….hot/humid, starts at DeBremond Stadium in downtown Roswell. Plenty of parking at the convention center, which is next to the stadium. You run out and back along the Spring River Parkway running trail. There’s a turnaround around 3rd/Wyoming and then you follow the path back. The finish line festival is tiny and you get a small water and a banana. They’ll call awards about an hour after the start. Afterwards, you can head to the UFO festival for some more fun.
See you in 2025!
