Week 4: Dopey Challenge 2026 training

It was a short training week because I was in Seattle for work on MTW. Thursday was a complete wash because of timing, energy, and my schedule. By the end of the workday on Friday, I thought it’d be more appealing to just go home to give my brain a break from the hectic week.

W4 Saturday: Went for my first 45 of the week at the gym. It’s been hot in Colorado and I haven’t felt motivated enough to deal with the heat. The treadmill isn’t my first choice unless it is very hot or very cold, which is about 50% of the time in Colorado. After my run I promptly came home and slept for most of the day.

W4 Sunday: I was in a complete rush this morning but managed to squeeze in another 45 before packing up and heading to the airport. I knew that I’d be pretty annoyed/upset if I let an entire week of training slide, so getting in at least my 45 minute helped pick up my mood.

Tomorrow morning I plan on squeezing in my 3 miler on the hotel treadmill. My usual hotel along the lakefront was booked, so unfortunately I am at a downtown location. I’m also going to add in a 30-minute strength training session. Kind of bummed to miss two weeks with my favorite 7pm strength training class instructor, but need to keep up my workouts so I’m not too sore when I return.

The last week was so busy at work that I didn’t even get to take any photos! I pretty much rushed through the day from wake-up to sleep. It was my first week in Seattle with the new team. My work trips are usually full of long days overall. I returned again just a few days later…I’ll be traveling for just a few days again and will return home on Wednesday evening. My schedule will be much more manageable this week.

I’m not the kind of person to play catch up but the clock is ticking, and the Disneyland Halloween Half is just around the corner!
