Temporary Lulls Are Just That…Temporary

This post sings a bit of a different tune. It's more about the lulls in energy or drive that hit me in my daily life, be it work related, training related, or personally related. It seems more so than ever I am aware that my life really is a series of unbalanced scales. I have … Continue reading Temporary Lulls Are Just That…Temporary →

The Best Way To Motivate Every Creative

I love what I do. I love it, I love it, I love it. It is days like today that I thank the starry sky above that I've been blessed with the brains, determination, and opportunity to pursue my passions fearlessly. Last night I slept when I wanted to. This morning, I woke up when I … Continue reading The Best Way To Motivate Every Creative →

Unleashing The Humble Artist Inside

For the most part I don't really consider myself an artist. I think it's because I'm jealous that real artists have talent. (Designers have talent too, I suppose. Just a different type of talent, a combinative talent of sorts.) Which then begs the question, what is the difference between art and design? I've entertained this … Continue reading Unleashing The Humble Artist Inside →

Why I Love Social Media

It's fun connecting with people online...but it's even better having the eyes and ears of all of your friends a few keystrokes away. Luckily for me, all but one of my friends from art school is on Twitter so it's great being able to keep up with their projects. I shared a minor victory on … Continue reading Why I Love Social Media →

The Rainbow Bridge says that when we leave this world, the pets we loved greet us again. I hope Kristin found her sweet Fëanor waiting — young, bright, and running straight into her arms. 💛🌈 🐾 Lately 🍂 9 weeks of corporate travel since June, and probably one more to go before the year is up. Loving lazy days ☕️ 📺 🐱 🛋️ 5.5 miles in total today (split AM/PM). Long run tomorrow 🏃🏻‍♀️ Two sessions today Evening treadmill run Quick evening run on the treadmill After-work run…a little later than usual Upper body lifting class tonight after work 💼 Half marathon 66 at the @rundisney Halloween Half last weekend. 90% humidity at the start line 🥵 I went out a bit too hard at the beginning because I was trying to give myself enough of a lead ahead of the balloon ladies. By the time I got to California Adventure I felt pretty rough…wobbly in the legs, not quite seeing stars but pretty close. I kept a close eye on my electrolytes and slowed down a bit. Worst case scenario I could always call it early, but I really wanted to finish. Always a close call but I made it to the 7pm lift class 🤗 Pre-dinner run…on a weekday…while traveling for work. Small wins. Miles for hope. Tomorrow’s half supports @stillirun and @afspnational, and honors my mom’s memory. 💙 Every step is part of my fundraising to help prevent suicide and remind others they’re not alone. Finally made it to a strength training class after 3 missed classes 🏋🏻‍♀️ now I’ll miss 3 more until I’m back from my work trip and half marathon. I did order a yoga mat tonight. My gym has some not-hot-but-warm stretching classes on weekends that I hope to attend more often!
