Recent Read: Born To Run

I started this book today waiting for the Metro to take me home from my just-completed 13 mile point-to-point run from my apartment to the ocean. It came highly recommended by a client who also happens to be a triathlete. Well, the last two days at least. Had an awesome ChevySXSW road trip experience, … Continue reading The ultimate/supreme catch-up blog entry →

The Victim vs. Survivor Mentality

Depending on how closely you stalk me on the interwebs, you have have gathered that I've been running a lot lately. I've been consistently running at least 5 days a week since the first week of February. In late March I ran my first 5K and this Sunday I will be running my first 10K. … Continue reading The Victim vs. Survivor Mentality →

Garden leave, book 3: “The Obstacle is the Way” by @ryanholiday. 5/5. Takeaways: 1) No one is coming to save you, 2) Don’t wait for an epiphany in order to begin, 3) Focus on the problem, not your reaction to it. Garden leave, book 2: “Possible Minds.” 2/5. It is a very dense read of multiple essays and I couldn’t feign any more interest after two weeks. I design for AI and I can’t even stand this book. Abandoning it for the second time! Garden leave, book 1: “Life is in the Transitions.” 4/5. Takeaways: 1) Embrace the chaos 2) No one has their life together 3) There’s not one right way to approach change.
